But it does not mean that it is the only time to detox.</p>
<p>Fall season is also a great time to consider cleaning your system to boost your immune system for the colder months. And if you&#8217;ve been through a lot of parties, ate too much and drank too much alcohol during the summer months, then you should be seriously thinking about Fall detox.</p>

<p>Here are great Fall detox ideas from <a href="http://www.myaventine.com/blog/?p=227" target="_blank">Aventine Hill</a>.</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>Exercise daily. </strong> Whether it’s a brisk walk, a jog, yoga, stretching, a game of basketball…do SOMETHING.  You need fresh air daily!  Whether you open up a few windows or doors (yes, even in the winter) for a short time daily…or you get that wonderful fresh air while you exercise…you NEED fresh air daily.  Airing out your home daily can also reduce stagnant stale air harboring germs.</p>
<p><strong>Drink 6-8 glasses of water daily</strong>.  Water is a natural detoxifier and will not only hydrate every cell in your body, it will flush out impurities.</p>
<p><strong>Eat to reduce toxins:</strong></p>
<p>Eliminate all junk food including soda and other sugar drinks.  Eliminate alcohol and smoking.</p>
<p>Your body needs a good balance of the right nutrients every day.  Make sure you include whole grains, beans, rice, fruits and vegetables (preferably organic).  Fruits and veggies are very high in fiber.  Fruits should be eaten in the morning.  Pears and apples are wonderful in cleansing.   Just like the old saying goes:  <em>An apple a day keeps the doctor away. </em>Vegetables are wonderful because they help your body to produce enzymes which in turn will help to push out that build up of toxins throughout your body.<br />

DO NOT EAT</strong> fried foods, red meat or anything that is processed.  No refined sugars!  And try to avoid dairy products.  Pasteurization is actually not really healthy.  So for just a couple days while you’re detoxing, use rice or almond milk as a replacement for regular milk.  No cheese, yogurt, etc.</p>
<p><strong>Eliminate trans-fats.  Read labels.</strong> Legally a company can label a product as ‘zero trans fats’ when in fact they are allowed by law to have .499 grams of trans-fat per serving in the product.  If the label includes the word ‘hydrogenated’ in it…just pass it by.<br />
<em><strong><br />
What is a trans-fat?</strong></em> They are chemically altered oils/fats.  <em><strong>What are the alternatives to trans-fats?</strong></em> Get your fats from nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocados.  If you look at a label and you cannot pronounce ingredients or they sound like a chemical…put the product down.</p>
<p>Not only during times of cleansing but all year long you <strong>should be eating foods high in calcium and magnesium</strong>.  Two very important things to eat naturally and maintain a healthy system.  These also will help clean out your colon and help your bowels expel all that nasty stuff up in there.</p>

* Beans<br />
* Pumpkin &amp; Pumpkin Seeds<br />

<p>Make sure you eat a balanced diet of calcium and magnesium. Magnesium enhances the absorption of calcium and they work hand in hand to support the nervous system. Get plenty of vitamin C too! It helps repair body tissues and helps the body form collagen, a kind of protein that makes you feel better and look younger. Then, chew your food well and don&#8217;t eat too much before bed time.</p>

<p>For the past 3 weeks, Gwyneth has been following the Clean detox progamme, which has the motto: Remove, Restore, Rejuvenate. You cut out all alcohol and processed food, eat only one solid meal a day and meditate for at least five minutes daily.</p>
<blockquote><p>7am: Wake up to one glass of room temperature water with fresh lemon juice</p>
<p>8am: One cup of herbal tea</p>
<p>10am: Blueberry and Almond Smoothie or Mango and Coconut Milk smoothie</p>
<p>11.30am: Coconut water (not milk)</p>
<p>1.30pm: Watercress and miso soup or salad with carrot and ginger dressing</p>
<p>4pm: Handful of almonds or raw pumpkin seeds</p>
<p>6pm: Steamed salmon with steamed greens or detox teriyaki chicken</p>
<p>7-10pm: Each evening, take a few spoonfuls of extra virgin olive oil. If constipation occurs, take castor oil or a herbal laxative tea</p>

<p>Alcohol, dairy, sugar, caffeine, red meat, processed foods, flour, gluten and soy</p></blockquote>
<p>But hey, before you jump-start your detox diet, read this warning from nutritionist, Carina Norris: &#8220;When people start talking of detox diets, alarm bells ring in my head. It&#8217;s great to give your body a rest from too much processed foods and sugars but there&#8217;s no need to do something so drastic. It can be low in calories so it would work but anything over a few days is not good for you.&#8221;</p>

<p>Soon the parks will be  full of joggers.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s time to re energize, start over, clean, and detox.</p>
<p>I love detox. It makes me feel so healthy and gives me tons of energy without feeling hungry or deprived of good food.</p>
<p>A one day detox is something everyone can do.</p>
<p>Here is my simple <strong>1 day detox program</strong>:</p>
<p><span id="more-1048"></span></p>
<p><strong>Breakfast: </strong>Make a smoothie with 2 types of fruits and 1 type of greens. The greens should not be bitter use for example spinach or roman lettuce.<strong>Lunch:</strong> Eat 1 or 2 types of fruit, whole or as a smoothie.</p>
<p><strong>Snack:</strong> Another smoothie with both fruits and greens.</p>
<p><strong>Dinner: </strong>Start with some fruit, then follow with a raw <a href="http://www.fromsadtoraw.com/Recipes/BerryBorscht.htm" target="_blank">vegetable soup</a>. Raw veggie soup is so easy to make. If you like tomatoes just mix a couple of fresh tomatoes with your favoirte spices. I use garlic, pepper and basil. It only takes a coupl of minutes to prepare and it has such a fresh taste.</p>
<p>Drink plenty herbal tea and water thorughout the whole day.</p>
<p>If you’re hungry after the soup, you could make a non-fat salad, or eat more fruit. Just remember to  you avoid oils, nuts, other fatty foods and salt.</p>
<p>Other thing I do frequently to control my weight and give myself an energy boost is a <a href="http://yournaturalwellness.com/2010/02/03/weight-loss-fast-day-1/" target="_blank">one day weigh loss fast</a>. It&#8217;s perfect to get rid of those extra winter pounds.</p>

<p>3,000 calories and 229 grams of fat is what the average American will consume at a holiday feast.</p>
<p>And in a couple of weeks the next holiday is coming.</p>
<p>Now is the time to <strong>detox</strong>.<br />
If you&#8217;ve never tried detox before than give it just 1 single day. You won&#8217;t regret it!</p>
<p>We&#8217;re all really busy right now and most of us can do with some EXTRA energy.</p>
<p><span id="more-811"></span>A 1-3 day detox will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Give you more energy.</li>
<li>Give your digestive system a well deserved break.</li>
<li>Relieve stress.</li>
<li>Eliminate some toxins from your body.</li>
<li>Maybe remove some excess weight.</li>
</ul>
<p>If you choose a detox diet that fits you will NOT make you feel:</p>
<ul>
<li>Tired</li>
<li>Weak</li>
<li>Hungry</li>
</ul>
<p>Maybe you like it enough to continue a couple of days more.</p>
<p>By day 7 your body will have started to burn excess body fat, not releasing water but burning fat. Sounds interesting?</p>
<p><strong>Choosing a Detox Diet</strong></p>
<p>There are so many detox diets out there and you have to think about what <a href="http://tinyurl.com/detoxdiet" target="_blank">fits you</a>. If you don&#8217;t like salad and raw foods do a cleanse that contains cooked food.<br />
If you love fruits and smoothies do a detox on just that.</p>
<p>Some people detox on just apples. Apples are great food so why not, just remember to peel them.</p>
<p>My favorite is to do a <strong>green cleanse</strong> where I eat all the fresh raw fruits and vegetables that I want.</p>
<ul>
<li>I don&#8217;t get hungry.</li>
<li>I don&#8217;t get tired.</li>
<li>I just get tons of energy!</li>
</ul>
<p>You can eat your food as they are, you can make delicious smoothies or you can try out some exiting raw food recipes.<br />
If you&#8217;re not already a raw foodist I really recommend that you try a couple of days of green cleanse.</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>Can You resist this?</strong></p>
<p>Nothing compares to a fresh smoothie.</p>
<ul>
<li>1 ripe mango</li>
<li>juice from 1 orange</li>
<li>1/2 pear</li>
</ul>
<p>Peel and cut in the fruits in pieces. Mix it all until smooth.</p></blockquote>
<p>You can also cleanse on <strong> cooked food</strong>.</p>
<p>For example the <strong>vegetable cleanse </strong>where you eat only vegetables. You can eat them raw, steamed or as a soup. Of course fresh herbs, onions and garlic are vegetables so this has real potential for great taste.</p>
<p>If you think that this all is not for you then did you know that you can <strong>detox on regular food</strong>?<br />
This is how you do it:</p>
<ol>
<li>Have breakfast, lunch as usual.</li>
<li>At 3 PM, have a  snack of fresh fruits.</li>
<li>After 3 PM drink only water the rest of the day.</li>
</ol>
<p>Bottom line is that there is a way to detox for each and <a href="http://tinyurl.com/detoxdiet" target="_blank">everyone</a> of us.<br />

<p>For me the idea that a lot of our undigested food gets stuck in our intestines is revolting. Our intestine gets thicker and thicker while the canal where the food passes gets smaller and smaller.

<p><strong><em>But how can I know just how good or bad MY digestive system is working?</em></strong>
</p>
<p>It is very easy. Chances are fair that you have all you need at home and can get started in about 30 sec. Basically as soon as you&#8217;ve finished reading this post.
</p>

<blockquote><strong>Simply do this: </strong>

<p>Grab a handful of shelled sunflower seeds and swallow them with as little chewing as possible.
</p>

<p>Now all you have to do is look out for when then seeds come out in the other end.
</p>
<p>If the seeds show up in up to 12 hours you&#8217;re in pretty good shape. But if it is more maybe even several days. Well, then you know you need to do something about it.
</p>
<p><strong><em>Remember to keep looking</em></strong> for a couple of days because it might be that some show up after 12 hours but that some take several days to pass.
