Spring is in the air.
All of a sudden the parks are full of joggers.
It’s time to re energize, start over, clean, and detox.
I love detox. It makes me feel so healthy and gives me tons of energy without feeling hungry or deprived of good food.
Today I came across a very easy raw 1-day detox program.
Here is an overview of the program:
Breakfast: Skip or make a green smoothie with 2 types of fruits and 1 type of greens. The greens should not be bitter use for example spinach or roman lettuce.
Lunch: Eat 1 or 2 types of fruit, whole or as a smoothie.
Snack: Another green smoothie.
Dinner: Start with some fruit, then follow with a raw vegetable soup.
If you’re still hungry after this soup, you could make a non-fat salad, or eat more fruit. Just remember to you avoid oils, nuts, other fatty foods and salt.
Once you’ve tried this, believe me, you’ll want to do it again, this time only longer.

You’re not alone.
3,000 calories and 229 grams of fat is what the average American will consume at a holiday feast.
And in a couple of weeks the next holiday is coming.
Now is the time to detox.
If you’ve never tried detox before than give it just 1 single day. You won’t regret it!
We’re all really busy right now and most of us can do with some EXTRA energy.
Detox Your Liver with a Flush
September 15, 2008 by Carolin · Leave a Comment
We can only last up to 24 hours without liver function. The liver has many functions. It produces substances that break down fats, makes certain amino acids, filters harmful substances from the blood and it stores of vitamins and minerals.
Our livers are vital.
I have always assumed that gallstones occur in the gallbladder. But I just learnt that this is not the case. Most gallstones are actually formed in the liver.
It is estimated that one billion people in the world will suffer gall bladder disease at some stage in their life.
In the United States, 20 million adults suffer from attacks of gallstones every year.
To avoid unnecessary pain and surgery it might be a good idea to try to flush out the stones before they cause too much damage.
Check out this video on liver flush. It’s funny, disgusting and scary.
Is ADF the Answer?

Have the popularity of detox gone too far?
In UK a 52-year-old mother received more than £800,000 after suffering permanent brain damage while on a detox diet that instructed her to reduce her salt intake and consume large amounts of water.
Long extreme detox plans are not only potentially dangerous, they are also very hard to stick to.
That is where the ADF or Alternate-Day Fast comes in.
Fasting one day and then eating normal the next.
The ADF is much easier to stick to and you can still go about your social life as usual during the days when you are not fasting. But is it effective?
A study on mice showed that even eating half the food every other day and normal amounts the next gave a fat cell loss of 35%.

3 ways to detox your hair
June 8, 2008 by Carolin · 4 Comments
You probably never thought about it but your shampoo is very likely to contain silicone derivatives.
The Good thing is that silicone derivatives adds luster and sheen to your hair.
The Bad thing is that they cause tumor in lungs and thorax.
How they work
Silicone derivatives are use in 99% of the shampoos on the market today. They make the hair look shiny as they coat the hair in a plastic like rap. This might feel ok until you learn that the same plastic coat causes cancer when it is put on lab rats.
The problem
The answer is of course to start using a pure, natural shampoo without these toxins. But we then run in to a problem. If you change to a good shampoo your hair will detoxify.
It will become dry, knotty and literally feel like a birds nest. This happens when the coat is released from the hair unevenly. The natural detox process can take weeks but you can speed up the process.
How to detox your hair
There are 3 easy ways to do this
- Detox bath. Fill up the bath tub and add
1 cup sea salt
1 cup Apple cider vinegar
2 cups of baking soda
Lie down in the tub and let your hair swish around.- Wash your hair in a paste of shampoo and baking soda
- Wash your hair in a paste of shampoo and purifying clay mask
After wards
Then you’re done you will have naturally healthy hair. Now you are all set to start using natural hair care products which do not cause cancer, dandruff and allergic reactions.
