What You Should Know About H1N1

By Carolin

Welcome back!

Why is only dangerous in some countries?

It’s funny how schools and authorities urge us to take the .

Other countries, like the Netherlands, have declared the to have passed. It’s gone, no need to worry anymore.

Here we need to worry about a second wave of the still so dangerous flu.

Was the flu really that bad?
Not as far as I’ve seen.

This was a really great business case for pharmaceuticals. Media blew up the dangers of the . Governments ordered for the whole population, sometimes even more. Massvaccination was being prepared. Untested was starting to be rolled out and the producers were not responsible for possible side effects.

Then something went wrong. The was not ready on time for the BIG outbreak.

Panic, among people who thought they desperately needed the . A clinic in Ann Arbor had to be closed down because of people panicing.

Imagine moms fighting to get a flu shot for their kids. “give my kid a shot!”

Panic, at all those governments, hostipals and entities who had ordered huge amount of . Who was going to pay for it?

The answer is simple, a possible second wave will make us scared enough to take the shot. Despite that the flu wasn’t that bad and despite that it already passed.

Well, haven’t most of us been exposed to it by now?

It sure sounds like there not that much to worry about.

And what happened to letting your body take care of illness on it’s own?

Still no flu shots in our family!

I’d say it’s nothing to worry about, but when you’re a patient with a higher risk because of other health conditions, you’d better get the shot instead of taking the risk. For all the others, I can’t see a good reason to rush to the doctor.

I totally agree. Again, it’s all about the money those greedy pharmaceuticals make and media happily helps them!
