Natural Remedy For Sunburn
By pam

We are all excited to spend some time under the sun this summer season. Some of you are probably planning to get a tan. Tan is not just about looks. If you live in a cold country, you need to get a sun tan to get enough vitamin D.
No matter how much we love to stay under the sun, it can cause undesirable effects to our body and skin such as dehydration and sunburn. It is important that before we expose ourselves to the sun, we know what to do when we get a sunburn the natural way.
The gel inside the Aloe Vera plant is the number one cure for sunburn because it is anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial.
Here are the important things to remember when treating a sunburn:
- Do not apply lotion.
- Take a cold shower before applying the Aloe Vera gel.
- Place a washcloth that has been soaked on ice water mixed with vinegar on the burns until it feels warm to the touch. (optional)
- Apply 100% Aloe Vera gel.

Other than Aloe Vera, there are also other natural remedies to treat sunburn at home. They are:
- Potato mask
- Ice
- Cold, raw milk
- Coconut oil
- Cold tea bags
- Cucumber paste
- Boiled cabbage leaves
- Green gourd paste
- Honey and lime
- Vinegar
- Sandalwood paste
Just make sure you are not allergic to any of these products. In case you are already feeling dizzy and nauseous from excessive sunburn, consult a doctor as soon as possible.
