The way is spreading it’s time we all learn what it is. Its symptoms. How to avoid it. And the serious warning signs.

What is :

is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses.

symptoms:

The symptoms of are similar to those of regular flu. cough, fever, sore throat, body aches, chills and fatigue. Some people also get diarrhea and vomiting.
But also serious illnesses like pneumonia, respiratory failure and death can occur. can also cause worsening of underlying chronic medical conditions.

warning signs in children (if these occur seek urgent medical attention):

  • fast breathing
  • trouble breathing
  • bluish skin color
  • not drinking enough fluids
  • not waking up
  • not interacting
  • fever with a rash
  • being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
  • flu like symptoms that improve and then return with a worse cough

warning signs in adults (if these occur seek urgent medical attention):

  • difficulty breathing
  • shortness of breath
  • pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
  • sudden dizziness
  • confusion
  • severe or persistent vomiting

How to avoid  :

There are a couple of very simple steps you can take that can make all the difference.

  • Wash your hands with soap often.
  • Cover your mouth with a tissue when you sneeze then through away the tissue.
  • Stay away form people who are sick.

The swine influenza does not spread through food.

    This is a very good post at the height of this epidemic, I guess precautions should be taken right from the very minute me leave our homes.
    Please remember these tips again below:
    * Wash your hands with soap often.
    * Cover your mouth with a tissue when you sneeze then through away the tissue.
