Do You Shower To Much?

By Carolin

Welcome back!

taking a showerIn the UK eczema have risen more than 40 % in just 4 years.

According to the experts this is partly because of the modern obsession with using soap and detergents.

Today nearly one in 10 babies has eczema Wellness.com reports.

“Michelle Stevens first noticed the red, blotchy patches on her toddler’s feet after he started walking. Every time Noah walked outdoors in their grassy backyard, the blotches appeared.

Before long, the itchy patches – signs of eczema – began popping up on Noah’s legs and in the crease of his arms. Even in his sleep, Noah scratches his arms and legs, making the rashes worse.”

Poor baby!

Babies are so sensitive but adult skin can get enough too.

In 2005 there were approximately 13 million office visits to physicians for skin rash in the US.

Are we destroying our skin with our obsession with cleanliness?

Maybe we don’t have to use soap all the time. Often it works absolutely fine to take a shower without using soap.

Did you know that I only wash my kids hair with soap once every 2 months or so? I tried it on my own hair but sadly it doesn’t work. I have already destroyed its natural balance. But I can easily go 2 weeks without using shampoo and I used to wash my hair every single day.
