7 Ways to Get a Great Brain
By Carolin
Welcome back!
Size matters!
I just watched Daniel G Amen on public television. He claims that size matters – at least when it comes to the brain.
He also says that you CAN change your brain. No matter how old you are. And he has brain scans to prove it.
I get really inspired by his strong and positive words. It used to be such a hopeless case when everyone seamed to believe that brain cells did not renew themselves. But that is not the case. Just like all other cells in our body our brain cells renew. And by making better choices we can make the new cells better than the old.
Here are Dr Amen’s 7 Ways to get a Better Brain.
1. Protect Your Brain
Wear helmet, seat belt etc
2. Avoid Toxic Substances
Including pain medication, alcohol and more than 2 cups of coffee a day.
3. Get Enough Sleep
At least 6 hours per night.
4. Eat Brain Healthy Food
A healthy brain diet contains:
- low fat protein
- complex carbohydrates
- healthy fats
- water
5. Exercise Your Brain
Learn something completely new.
6. Exercise Your Body
Do aerobic coordination exercises such as dancing and ping-pong.
7. Supplement
Supplement omega-3 and multivitamin on a daily basis.
Did you know that if you live to be 85 you have a 50% risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease?
You can take a free online memory test at the Amen Clinics.
If you are in the risk zone you need to get on a healthy brain program.
