How about cancer-causing byproducts of chlorination, fertilizer residue, industrial solvents and caffeine.

Laboratory tests conducted for Environmental Working Group at one of the country’s leading quality laboratories showed alarming results. 10 popular brands of bottled were tested and the results showed:

  • an average of 8 contaminants in each brand
  • 38 chemical pollutants altogether
  • one-third of the chemicals found are not regulated in bottled
  • some chemicals exceeded legal limits in California as well as industry-sponsored voluntary safety standards
  • four brands were also contaminated with bacteria

Most people who go to the trouble of buy bottled do this because they believe that this will be healthier and of better quality. But once again we’ve been deceived.

Make sure you have a good filter in your house. Remember that to remove fluoride form the you need a filter using reverse-osmosis.

A lot of our tap has high levels of fluoride. High amounts of fluoride is unhealthy especially for babies and children under 7.

Choosing can be a real hazel. Most toothpastes are filled with unhealthy substances. Some are even so bad that they are marked “do not swallow”.

Then we have the sensitive fluoride question.
Fluoride is a toxic substance. It is not good for our bodies but it does make our teeth stronger and it lowers the risk of tooth decay.

The first time I tried non-fluoridated toothpaste it didn’t take long before I felt cavities in my teeth. So I change back to a fluoridated one and the ache quickly disappeared.
