Dr David Ludwig at Harvard Medical School has found that changes in body weight and belly fat is not about following a low-fat diet. Is it about how your body responds to sugar, carbohydrate, or glucose load.
This means that your risk of gaining weight depends on how your body reacts on sugar. If you produce too much insulin you will:
- Become hungrier
- Store extra belly fat (insulin is a fat storage hormone)
