Stress Relieving Dinner

Some people even see stress as a sign that they are important.
This is wrong.
If you live with stress during long periods of time you’re putting your entire well-being at risk. Stress effects your emotional and physical health. It narrows your ability to think clearly, function effectively, and enjoy life.

Most stress relieves include actions that take time. Precious time which is hard for an already stressed person to find. But one thing that we all do everyday is eat. Not many people know that there are foods that help you to manage stress better and to lower your stress levels.

Foods that give you are foods that:

  1. Support your liver function and balances your serotonin levels as these are important factors for your mood and capability to handle stress.
  2. Help you detox, as toxins in your body increases your stress level.
  3. Support your adrenal glands. They make stress hormones and overworked adrenal glands can cause deficiencies and chronic stress.

I’ve put together a 5-day dinner plan that is full of foods which will help you manage stress.
The are healthy and easy to cook. I’ve also explained which benefits the different foods have so that you easily can make your own menus or pick the right food at a restaurant.


Monday

Celery and almond soup. I love soup and it is even better with home made, freshly baked bread. If you have a bread machine serve this sunflower seeds bread with your soup.
Celery has been used as a natural remedy to lower blood pressure. It also lowers concentration of stress hormones.
Almonds are a good source of magnesium. Low levels of magnesium has been linked to irritability, insomnia and tension. You can soak the almonds over night to make them easier to digest.
Sunflower seeds are a good source of calcium and vitamin B and zinc. The substances that easily plunges when we’re stressed. Zinc supports the adrenal glands.

Tuesday
Garlic chicken with brown rice. Great dinner in 20 minutes.
Brown rice contains slow carbohydrates which helps to keep your energy level high. It also helps release serotonin which affects you mood and helps you cope with stress.
Garlic increases your energy and helps to lower blood pressure. It contains allicin which naturally detoxes the body.

Wednesday
Tasty Asparagus and Brown Rice. A super fast 10 minute recipe.
Brown rice contains slow carbohydrates which helps to keep your energy level high. It also helps release serotonin which affects you mood and helps you cope with stress.
Garlic increases your energy and helps to lower blood pressure. It contains allicin which naturally detoxes the body.
Asparagus helps detoxify your body and it supports the liver. On top of this it is good for the production of red blood cells and it has antioxidant agents.

Thursday
Pasta with mozarella and sunflower seeds. Fresh pasta dish in 15 minutes.
Garlic increases your energy and helps to lower blood pressure. It contains allicin which naturally detoxes the body.
Sunflower seeds are a good source of calcium and vitamin B and zinc. The substances that easily plunges when we’re stressed. Zinc supports the adrenal glands.

Friday
Kelp and cucumber salad. If you have a bread machine load it up in the morning, put it on timer and serve this sesame seeds bread with the salad.
Kelp and algae help detox and drain toxins from our bodies and they give energy to the liver.
Cucumber has been used as a home remedy for it’s calming effect on liver and blood.
Sesame seeds are a good source of zinc.

Start your meal with a cucumber and celery juice. Always clean the vegetables before you juice them. Juice the cucumber first as the celery easily clogs the machine.

As dessert treat yourself to this powerful antioxidant drink.
Antioxidants eliminates free radicals that cause damage in the body and even more so during stress. Antioxidants also helps the amino acid tryptophan to form serotonin.

Super chocolate drink:
1,5 cup of rice milk or regular milk
1 sachet of Berry Radical
3 teaspoons honey or sugar
A pinch of vanilla
