Male Dominance: Sending Messages to Your Kids

Welcome back!

Yesterday, a friend sent me this video. And it got me thinking.

The statistics that Jackson Katz are showing are horrifying.

But it is good and it makes me think of what a big responsibility we have as parents raising our sons and daughters. It’s not only about how we treat our children but how we, the parents, the role models, treat each other and everyone around us.

Of course every thing around a child forms them. Everywhere messages are sent out on how the world works and how we should be as humans.

Even something as trivial as Disney movies.

I have been a bit skeptical to Disney movies since I find many of them quite violent and I don’t like the message Disney films are sending out on how a girl should be.
But how about my sons? And my daughter’s picture of men.
I never thought of the message these films are sending to my children on what men are. This video opened my eyes.
