By Carolin
Welcome back!
There is one miracle method that in 1 second will make you look:
- Thinner
- Younger and
- Stronger
Try this:
Stand in front the mirror
Sink in and let your shoulders fall forwards
Look at yourself.
Now straighten up your body into a good, healthy posture.
Look again.
All of a sudden you look thinner, stronger, healthier and younger.
Now you’ve seen the difference.
And a good posture will not only chance the way you look it is also very important for both your body and your muscles.
Your posture starts in your feet , continues through the knees up to your lower back.
A good posture will keep your muscles, strong and healthy.
An incorrect posture makes some muscles overloaded and tense while other muscles become inactive. An incorrect posture will in the long run give you back pain.
How to check your posture.
For this you need a digital camera with self-timer, a printer, a pen and a ruler.
- Position the camera so you can take a picture of your whole body seen from the side.
- Press the self-timer and stand in the right spot.
- Stand up straight in your normal posture while the camera takes a picture.
- Print the picture.
- With the ruler draw a vertical line from your ankle to your ear.
The line should pass through your:
- Ancle
- Knee
- Hip
- Shoulder
- Ear
Just as in this image.

Good article. After reading the title elsewhere I thought you were going to make some snarky remark.
I think you’re absolutely right about good posture boosting one’s self-esteem. Like making yourself smile the body is programmed to mentally respond. Smile and you feel better. Same with better posture.
Having a good posture also portrays confidence in yourself. People looking at you will give more respect and generally have a better feeling of you.
I was just talking about posture and how I have been letting it slide. The habits we fall into are not always good for us.
Thanks for the reminder that we need to straighten up.

Great idea! Isn’t funny how the simplest things in life are the most effective. I think this is why my parents always looked so young. They both had terrific posture and really stressed it in us girls. Also, sitting up straight makes you feel more energized and focused.
