Loose over 2 pounds a week by changing bread

Hi! My name is Carolin. If you like the tips you see here, and there are hundreds of them, please subscribe. And don't forget to Follow me on Twitter .

Thanks for visiting!

I just read about a woman who lost 90 pounds in nine months.
Only by changing her breakfast habits and walking.

She started to eat a breakfast containing healthy bread, fruits and vegetables. And the pounds just disappeared.

The bread you eat really makes a difference.
I friend of mine had a similar experience a couple of years ago. She had been gaining weight slowly but surely for years. I don’t really want to say it but she had become fat.

By changing bread she not only reversed the trend. It became her solution to serious, permanent . I don’t know how much she lost but I can tell you that it was a total transformation. She looked great.

What is so bad about bread?

We’ve all heard about and glycemic index. In a diet based on food with you don’t eat fast carbohydrates. The fast carbohydrates in in for example white flour are devastating. They give you a blood sugar rush. Every blood sugar high is followed by an as extreme low. With this blood sugar low you need energy again. FAST!

By starting you day with white bread or sugary cereal you make sure that your day will be full of blood sugar highs and lows. And the following sugar cravings.

White flour is highly processed. It has lost most of its natural nutrients. Sure often its enriched but that is just not good enough. Your body needs nutrients. It doesn’t matter how much food you stuff in your stomach. If there is not enough nutrients you will soon be hungry again.

White flour is used in many products because it is cheap and has a very long shelf life. Not because it is healthy.

So how do you pick healthy bread?

I wish it was as easy as saying whole grain but it’s not. Most contains just a little bit of whole grain and lost of cheap white flour.

Preferably your bread should contain NO white flour. At least the whole grain should be listed before of the white flour in the ingredients label. Then you know that there is more whole grain than white flour.

4 things to think of when you choose bread:

  1. It should contain mainly whole grain (check the ingredients label)
  2. Try other grains than wheat; rye, spelt, barley.
  3. Healthy bread is heavy, lift it up a feel.
  4. Color is not enough. Brown bread is not equal to healthy.

Healthy bread is more expensive to buy. But I seriously wonder if it isn’t cheaper in the long run. You need a lot less to get full and you stay full much longer.
Apparently barley is especially good if you want to avoid snacking.

Back to my friend who lost so much weight by changing bread. I told you how great she looked.
Well, she still looks great. Years later she has not put on any weight.
That’s what we need to and keep it off.

The great this about this way loosing weight is that you do not need to follow a diet. Continue eating as usual. Just buy healthier bread. It is sooo easy.

How To Get Vitamin D During Winter

September 24, 2007 by Carolin · Leave a Comment

The news, the papers, internet. Wherever I look there are reports on the importance of . The report state that deficiency of vitamin D causes cancer, heart disease, diabetes, MS and tuberculosis.

All you need is 10-15 minutes of sun shine on 40% of your skin per day. This might be really easy during summer. But how do you get enough during winter?

One god thing is that vitamin D is fat soluble which means that it stays in you body. And you don’t have to get up to your daily doses every single day. But still during cold weather it is almost impossible to get enough just from sun shine.

So what are the alternatives?
Cold water fatty fish such as Salmon, Mackerel and Herring is the best alternative.

Liver, eggs and milk also contain vitamin D though less than fish.

Not enough sun shine and don’t eat enough fish. Do like me and supplement on . Enzymatic’s Eskimo-3 105Sg is natural, stable and of great quality.

Warning: Flue season is almost here. Boost your immune system now!

September 12, 2007 by Carolin · Leave a Comment

Fall is just around the corner.

My kids have started school again. We all know it won’t be long before the first flu turns up.

It’s definitely time to start boosting your immune system.

So what do you need to get you through the flue season?

  • Stimulate blood circulation and the lymphatic system to remove waste
  • Foods that stimulate immune system
  • Foods natural antibiotic properties

Here are the top foods you need to survive this winter.

Garlic: Studies have shown that garlic is the most effective natural cold/flue remedy. Add it to your food every day or supplement. Garlic has many, many health benefits and one is that it stimulates blood circulation.

Echinacea is a well known for its stimulating effects on the immune system. Have a small bottle at home and use if you feel you might have caught something.

Vitamin C will increase your energy and boost your immune system. Many studies show that vitamin C has best effect on professional athletes. But I can’t help wonder how much they take? The RDA recommended 60mg/day. Or the 1000mg/day that more and more doctors are recommending. 60 mg/day is really only just enough to avoid scurvy .Personally I’ve had very good use of vitamin C. I take 1000 mg a day during the “flue season”.

Omega-3 is crucial for a well functioning immune system. Something no one can do without. But make sure you buy a product of good quality since fish oil can become rancid.

Honey strengthens immune system and has antibiotic properties. Use in you food but don’t heat it. Honey is a great bread spread. If you feel you are coming down with something drink fresh lemon juice with lost of honey.

Ginger and cayenne pepper stimulates blood circulation. Use then to in your food and make hot ginger tea.

Water is essential for you body to remove waste products. Drink 8 glasses of water a day. If you feel you’re about to come down with something drink even more water. Think of it as “flushing out” the germs with water.

I’ve had no flue and only 1 cold in 4 years and then I was 7 months pregnant and moving house. Apparently that was just a bit too much for me. But other than that these anti cold/flue remedies really work. Not just for me but for my whole family.
