Monounsaturated fats

All unsaturated fats have a double carbon bond. There are monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats. Mono since they only have one double carbon bond.
Examples of monounsaturated fats are olive oil and rape seed oil. They both have a high level of antioxidants which makes them very good sources of fat. They are also less likely to become rancid outside or in the body than other vegetable oils.
Sources of monounsaturated fats are:
- Olive oil
- Rape seed oil
- Sesame oil
- Most nuts
- Avocados
